Antique Wooden Chess Set c1900–1930 – Hand-Turned Boxwood & Ebonised Pieces in Original Slide Box, 7cm King, Edwardian Chessmen mod girl A few of the signaturesA handsome antique wooden chess set dating from around 1900 to 1930, complete with its original sliding lid wooden box. The turned pieces are beautifully shaped in the classic early Staunton style, handmade from natural boxwood and ebonised wood with rich aged patina. Each chessman shows lovely turning detail, with hand carved knights and elegant domed kings and queens. The king stands approximately 7 cm tall. One black pawn has an old chip to the
